My hope for this blog is that it becomes a safe haven for me to get my head together. A place to vent, to process and to heal.
I am a mom of 4, two grown daughters and two young teen sons. I’ve struggled for years with bipolar disorder, mostly depressive, agoraphobia and recently, alcoholism.
I have a son with Asperger Syndrome. His struggles break my heart.
I do have some fun things in my life, all is not bleak! We have a lot of pets. Two dogs, an ancient Lhasa Apso and a 10 year old lab/golden mix, 3 parrots, 2 cockatiels and an African Grey that talks and 2 guinea pigs which have to be some of the cutest little critters on earth.
I’m also a voracious reader. Mostly non-fiction, but I do enjoy fiction as well. I crochet, and knit a little. I enjoy seeking out new interests and hobbies.
I’ve played guitar for 30 some years and am now learning how to play the harp, which is a beautiful instrument!

Hi Jan, I stumbled upon your blog. I wasn’t even looking for anything addiction related. I have to admit the photos you chose are what drew me in. Of course providence, never ceasing to be at work, led me to read some of your posts. I wanted to let you know that someone out here in the world sees and acknowledges you, your pain, your beauty, and the courage and strength that you possess. No doubt, you are a spiritual warrior. I know alot about entities…self-created and otherwise. If you are interested in learning more you may wish to visit my website at http://www.AddictionAlchemy.com. My work reaches lightworkers who are ready to come out of the deep cover that has created a veil over the first 35-40ish years of their life, so that they can step into their real work.
